Akko Emirate Council Expresses Strong Support for the Historic PPP Agreement between Gombe State Government and Lincoln University College, Malaysia

 
The Akko Emirate Council has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for signing a historic memorandum of understanding  with Lincoln University College, Malaysia to kick start academic activities in the erstwhile abandoned Gombe State University of Science and Technology, Kumo. 
The Emir of Akko, His Royal Highness,  Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku made this position known in a statement released and signed by the Emirate Council’s secretary, Umar Adamu. 
The Council explained that the agreement will unearth many opportunities for the members of the host community and the state in general.  
“This has no doubt opened up enormous prospects for the development of education not only in Akko Local Government but the state and country at large”, the statement partly reads. 
The emirate council commended Governor Inuwa’s efforts to provide succour especially to indigents and equal educational opportunities for all indigenes of the state without discrimination. 
“The pledge made by His Excellency and the Founder of Lincoln University to pay particular attention to the children of the less privileged in the society has filled us with joy and great sense of fulfilment”, the statement said. 
The Akko Emirate also used the medium to appreciate Governor Inuwa fir awarding contract for the construction of the long awaited  Kumo- Luggerewo- Bappah Ibrahima Papa road which will open up many communities with vast agricultural lands and huge economic potentials.  
The statement listed some personalities for special appreciation for their support towards the success of the signing ceremony,  including the Deputy Governor,  Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau,  member representing Akko Federal Constituency,  Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo,  Nigerian High Commissioner to Malaysia,  Dr.  Hajara Salim,  former FCT Minister,  Dr. Aliyu Modibbo, the Deputy Executive Secretary of NUC, Mr. Chris Maiyaki and Secretary to Gombe state government,  Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi as well as the Chief of Staff,  Abubakar Inuwa Kari and the commissioner for higher education,  Hon. Meshack Audu Lauco.  
Others are: Alhaji Lamido Umar Chikaire, Dr.  Gaji I. Bello, Alhaji Abubakar Muazu, Alhaji Ya’u Gimba Kumo and Alhaji Musa Alkali. 
The Emirate council also listed traditional rulers to include the Mai Kaltungo and Deputy chairman of Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs,  Engr Saleh Mohammed,  Folo Dadiya, Emirs of Dukku, Yamaltu,  Pindiga, Gona and Mai Tula for special recognition and appreciation.
