COMMANDANT MUHAMMAD BELLO MUAZU, RECEIVED THE DISTRICT HEAD OF BOJUDE, KWAMI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, CALLS FOR MORE INTER AGENCY COLLABORATION BETWEEN SECURITY AGENCIES AND PROMISED MORE OUTPOSTS TO SAFEGUARD COMMUNITIES.
Gombe State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Gombe State Command, CC Muhammad Bello Muazu received the leadership of Bojude Community on a courtesy visit in appreciation of the Corps’ presence and its activities in the area.
Speaking during the visit, the district head of Bojuɗe Engineer Muhammad Ibrahim, informed the State Commandant that following the establishment of an NSCDC outpost and its subsequent upgrading to a full fledge Division, Bojuɗe Community and environs can now sleep with their two eyes closed.
He said the presence of NSCDC Officers and men has greatly improved the security architecture of the area, especially in taming the lingering farmer/herder clashes in the area.
The district head said the community has provided additional lands for the establishment of more NSCDC outposts in the community, especially along its border axis with Nafada, Funakaye, Dukku and Akko Local Government Areas.
He commended the NSCDC, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and other security outfits in the state for their commitments towards ensuring peace and security in Bojuɗe and Gombe State at large.
Earlier in their submissions, some elders of the community Alhaji Ahmed Bojuɗe, Babayo Abdullahi, Alhaji Ado Gabani and Muhammad Musa Kolo, appreciated the State Commandant for being instrumental to the establishment of the Bojuɗe NSCDC outpost, describing it as a major step that made the community more peaceful and secured.
They appealed to the State Government to provide more support to the Corps, especially through the provision of utility vehicles, equipment and firearms.
In his response, CC Muhammad Bello Mu’azu, assured the Community of more outposts, to guarantee more security of lives and properties.
He however tasked the community members to help provide a befitting office and residential accommodation for his Officers and Men, ensuring that and I qoute “As soon as you provide us with a suitable office and residential accommodation, I guarantee to deploy my men there”.
While appealing for more support and cooperation from the community members to security agencies, the Commandant charged Bojuɗe residents to report any suspicious movement and strange faces to nearest security agencies for prompt actions.
He also cautioned members of the community against accommodating criminals and their informants, maintaining that the informants are even more dangerous than major culprits.
He advised traditional leaders of the community to devise means of profiling strangers and new settlers in their domains, for onward notification to security agencies.
The Commandant said the measure will go a long way to address the atrocities of bandits and kidnappers whom he said are increasingly targeting areas like Gombe State.
While commending the synergy between communities and security agencies in the State, Commandant M.B Muazu appreciated the State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his commitments to security and safety of citizens.
He added that the recent commitments displayed by the State Governor in addressing farmer/herder conflicts through active engagement of the NSCDC Agro Rangers Personnel has recorded great successes of more than 85% so far.
