NASARAWA STATE WATER BOARD PARTNERS NSCDC TO COMBAT SABOTEURS

In recognition and cooperation with the core mandate of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, the Nasarawa State Water Board has paid a familiarization visit to the State Commandant, NSCDC Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Abbas Bappa Muhammed, at the State Command Headquarters in Lafia.

The General Manager of the Board, Mr. Kana Ahmad Abubakar, extolled the magnanimity, quintessential and punctilious leadership style of the State Commandant, in his words ”I tend to agree with the notion created by the general public about your leadership style, when I saw how disciplined and show of professionalism by your personnel safeguarding our water installations in the state’, he said.

”The Water Board installations in Nasarawa State cuts across the 13 local government areas of the state, and as such the need to safeguard the infrastructure. Government at all levels pay heavily to acquire such, and it is pertinent to pay critical attention to them, for the benefit of the good people of Nasarawa State.

The Board is saddled with the responsibility of providing portable water to Urban and Semi-Urban areas of the State, therefore, there is need for the Board to partner, collaborate and create a working synergy with the NSCDC as the leading agency in protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.” Kana said.

In his response, the State Commandant NSCDC, Nasarawa State Command, Abbas Bappa Muhammed, thanked the General Manager and his management team for recognizing the statutory functions of the NSCDC.

In his words, ” Protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure is one of the core mandates of the NSCDC as enshrined in the NSCDC Act 2007 as Amended, and as such, we will not relent in safeguarding the Water Infrastructure and installations in the State. The door of the NSCDC is widely open for any request that will be made by the Board,” he concluded.
