Nasarawa State NSCDC Commandant, Abbas Bappa Muhammed
Operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nasarawa State, have arrested over 12 suspects for various crimes in Lafia metropolis.
The State Commandant, Abbas Bappa Muhammed has consistently condemned the incessant cases of child molestation, rape and defilement in the State, despite the various methods used by the Command to mitigate this ugly trend ravaging our society.

He mentioned that different and stringent method and approach will be adopted to stamp out its reoccurrence.
It is the right of every girl child to be protected, the NSCDC boss said.
The victim, (Name Witheld) 4yrs f’ who hailed from Angwan Magaji along Emir Palace Lafia, was seen crying profusely with blood stain all over her, when accosted by her mother she narrated what happened.
The suspected, Ibrahim Hashimu 18yrs m’ was immediately apprehended and brought to NSCDC office for questioning, he agreed committing the heinous crime and pleaded for mercy.
In the same vein, 3 suspects Yakubu Ossan 55yrs m’, Mustapha Ibrahim 24yrs m’ a scrap Dealer and Hussain Yakubu 21yrs an Okada rider, were arrested by the men of the Anti-Vandal squad in collaboration with the men of the Nasarawa Eggon Division for vandalizing 33 kV high tension cable, in Mada Station, Nasarawa Eggon Local government area of Nasarawa State.
The prime suspect Yakubu Ossan diverted the said cables when heavy rain destroyed over 10 poles, that were meant to be taken to the Mai-Angwa’s house in Mada Station.
One Aisha Saidu 22yrs f’ and her brother in-law (at large) was arrested for grievous battery and assaulting her stepchildren in Lafia. Bruises were seen all over the victims who were rushed to a medical facility for medical attention.
Investigation is on-going after which the suspects will be charge to competent court of jurisdiction for prosecution.
The NSCDC Boss, called on the good people of Nasarawa State as well as parent and gudiance, to make the movement and whereabout of their children and wards especially the female gender there topmost priority.
Members of the public need to be vigilant and be conscious of their environment, they should report any suspicious movement within and around their vicinity to any security agencies closer to them.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nasarawa State Command will not relents in it’s efforts to get rid of bad elements in the state, as crime and criminality will have no space in the state, he concluded.
