Jigawa NSCDC Command Apprehends 48-year-old Notorious Vandal

NIgerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCD, has arrested 48-year-old Abdullahi Muhammad over alleged vandalization and theft of street lights armoured cables in Jigawa State.

Spokesman of Jigawa State NSCDC, CSC Adamu Shehu has in a press statement confirmed the arrest of Abdullahi Muhammed a notorious vandal in Jigawa State.

CSC Adamu Shehu said the 48-year-old suspect was arrested along Sarkin Arewa Government Day Secondary School in Birniwa Local Government after he was alleged to have stolen armoured cable.

“The armoured cable covers an estimated area of about 3 kilometers and measuring 175 meters with each meter selling at the rate of N9,000, with total value of N1,575,000,” he said.

Adamu said the action plunged the whole area into darkness.

He said during the process of investigation and interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect was once arrested and charged to court on the same offence.

For years the suspect was said to have stolen lots of street lights armoured cables in Jigawa State.

The suspect confessed to the crime and will be charged to court.
