The Akwa Ibom State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has received a new State Commandant. He is Commandant Bashar Kefas Hussaini.
He takes over from Engr. Eluwade Eluyemi, who has been redeployed to NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja.
Comdt Bashar hails from Akwanga LGA in Nassarawa State and holds a Bachelor of Science in Guidance and Counselling from Nassarawa State University and a Masters in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
His service began in 1990 as a member of cadet officer course 1 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), where he served for almost two decades before transferring his services to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in 2009.
The new State Commandant brings an extensive experience in undercover operations, counter terrorism, intelligence and investigations and will be responsible for leading the NSCDC in Akwa Ibom in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure amongst other mandates of the Corps.
In his maiden address to officers shortly after takeover, Commandant Bashar pointed out clearly that he has a mandate which he must deliver, and called on officers and men to brace up for performance and results.
