NSCDC nabs teenager in Kwara for plotting abduction of his former employee

A 19 year old boy identified as Abu-Umar, has been arrested by officials of Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for plotting the kidnap of his former employee.

This was revealed via a statement by the state’s commandant of the NSCDC, Umar Mohammed in Ilorin, Kwara on Monday, December 2.

Mohammed stated that the suspect was allegedly involved in plotting the kidnapping of a mother and her two children.

He said, “The suspect was involved in the abduction of a mother, Isiaka Halimah, and her two sons, Kabir Isiaka and Hassan Isiaka, on November 7 at Gidanrogo Area of Ajase-Ipo, in Ifelodun Local Government Area.

“He had previously worked for the family of the abducted victims and was tracked and arrested after the kidnappers used his phone number to contact the family.

“While Halimah has been released, the two children are still in captivity.”

The commandant reaffirmed the corps dedication to tackling criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of residents throughout the state.

Adding that, “We are working with other security agencies to see how the remaining children will be released.”
