NSCDC Enugu State Command Flags Off Four-Day Capacity Building Workshop

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Enugu State Command has on 3rd December 2024 commenced a four-day capacity-building workshop for management staff, Area Commanders, and Divisional Officers across the state. The workshop, focusing on report writing and related topics, was flagged off today at the State Command’s Mediation Hall.

The State Commandant, Elijah Willie Etim, officiated the opening ceremony, flanked by key principal officers, including the Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Olariche Jonathan, Head of Administration DCC Egwuonwu Chinyere, Head of Operations DCC Idoko Bernard, Head of Intelligence DCC Abdullahi Hussaini Rogo, Head of Anti-Fraud ACC Ogri Raphael, and Head of the Safe School Initiative ACC John Okorie.

In his address, Dr. Willie emphasized the importance of training and capacity development for enhanced professionalism, improved performance, and better service delivery. He urged participants to take the workshop seriously, as it is geared towards strengthening the Corps’ image and operational efficiency.

Following the opening ceremony, the technical and plenary sessions began, addressing key topics such as:

NSCDC mandates and Corey responsibilities

Intelligence gathering and reporting

Performance monitoring and evaluation

A monitoring and evaluation system was also introduced, designed to assess the performance of Area Commanders and Divisional Officers through a point-based scoring system. This system aims to foster accountability and drive performance improvement across the Command.
