KESHINRO FLAGS OFF 2-DAY TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR PRIVATE GUARD COMPANIES’ STAFF IN LAGOS

In line with the statutory mandate of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), to carry out regular periodic trainings for operators of Private Guard Companies in the nation, the Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, today, Tuesday, 3rd December, 2024, has flagged off a Two ( 2 ) Day Train the Trainer Program for licensed operators drawn from various companies across the state. The training which has begun today, Tuesday, 3rd with the opening ceremony and lectures for Batch A Participants will come to a close tomorrow, Wednesday, 4th December, 2024, with another round of lecture for the Batch B Participants.

The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, declared, the training open today, Tuesday, at the Theodolite House, in Anthony, Lagos . He also commended the Guest Lecturers and Facilitators; Professor Adedeji Oyenuga, PhD, Dficss and Dr Isimamen Funto Akhimen, PhD ( Lagos State University), for partnering with the Command to achieve its statutory mandate in the state .

The Lagos State Commandant, while addressing the participants seized, the training to appreciate those who are compliant with the standard practice but also warned those who believe in quackery to desist or face the full wrath of the law after being caught. He said that quackery undermines the efforts of government and sets the industry backward .

According to the Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, affirmed that the Command has developed, a well researched theme by the erudite scholars billed, to facilitate the totally free training for participating operators, who were drawn from various licensed companies in the state. The Lagos State Commandant also affirmed that regular trainings have come to stay in the industry as he implored operators to be expectant of more and more trainings as time rolls by. The training according to the Lagos State Commandant amongst other things is aimed, at training those who will in turn later impact the guards with the capacity and knowledge needed, to further aid standardization professionalism, legality and set order in the private security industry in the state.

The theme of the Two ( 2 ) Day Train the Trainer Program; “Private Security Guards Operations and Administration; Control and Monitoring Mechanism, Physical Assets’ Security and Effective Vulnerability Risk Assessment Strategies,’ was also declared, by the Lagos State Commandant at the event.

The Chairman, Lagos Zone of Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria ( ALPSPN ), Mr Babatunde Mumuni seized the TOT program to hail the efforts of the Lagos State Commandant to equip the practitioners of the private security industry in the state and he also described his approach as unprecedented in recent times in the state. He implored participants from various companies to take advantage of the free training with the view to use it for meaningful impacts where they work .

Present at the event also were the officers from the Private Guard Company Department in the Command led by Deputy Commandant of Corps Eze Onyegbula, Head of Department, the Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin, Training Moderator and the Media .
