*COMMANDANT SANI MUSTAPHA MET AGRO-ALLIED PRIMARY STAKEHOLDERS IN ZAMFARA STATE*
The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zamfara State Command, Commandant Sani Mustapha In his opening remarks enlightened the key stakeholders for the need to promote and ensure agro-allied production is expanded and farmers/ herders conflicts are eradicated in the State.
Agro Rangers Unit was established in the year 2016 and was saddled with the responsibility of resolving the conflicts between herders and farmers and recently ten thousand (10,000) Agro Rangers where deployed by the Commandant General *Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi _mni OFR_* across the Federation with the aim to curtail farmers/ herders clashes and secure agro-allied productions and investments.
He continued highlighting the roles and importance of the Agro Rangers Unit to agro-allied investments noting it serves as a body mandated to safeguard farm produce, mediate between farmers and herders, prevent farmers and herders conflicts and to provide physical security to agro-allied industries.
Commandant Sani Mustapha stated that Zamfara State Command wishes to cooperate with stakeholders in ensuring the Agro Rangers succeed in their mandates, urging all stakeholders to put the required efforts in giving NSCDC the maximum support and information where necessary.
The State Commandant stated insecurity in Zamfara State has dwindled farming activities and agricultural productions significantly and as a result, the consumer demand has increased not only Zamfara but across Nigeria in its entirety.
In conclusion, the State Commandant asserted that banditry activities has directly affected food security and this interface is determined to proffer a way of resolving these occurrences and in earnest, it is cardinal to collaborate and collectively give our quota to preserve and secure agro-allied productions and facilities in the State.
