The 2024 independence day parade/celebration was held at Cenotaph, Asaba in Delta State.
The celebration had in attendance, the Executive Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. Elder Oborevwori Sherrif and other top members of the State executive council, the Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps CC Matthew S. Ovye and other Service Commanders, Members of the Delta State House of Assembly, Traditional Rulers and other very important personalities in the state.
The State Governor, who was the reviewing officer inspected the parade after which a beautiful parade of officers led by the Nigeria Police entertained the gathering.
Governor Oborevwori in his address reminisced on the sacrifices of the founding fathers and the effort the put in to see that the nation Nigeria was born about Sixty four (64) years ago.
He also commended the effort of our various leaders in nation building and promised that in the spirit of the sacrifices of our founding fathers no stone will be left unturned especially in Delta State until Nigeria takes her rightful place in the comity of nations.
The independence celebrations came to a beautiful end at about 1125hrs.
