OGUN NSCDC BOSS, IDOWU OJELABI GRACES 64TH INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION, SAYS OGUN IS FREE OF PROTESTS

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Headquarters, Abeokuta, Commandant David Idowu Ojelabi was at the arcade ground of the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, in respect of the grand finale of the 64th Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, stressing that entire ogun is free of unwarranted protests.

Aside from the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was there to inspect the parade as the reviewing officer and address the gathering; the Deputy Governor, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, was equally present; the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi; the Chief Judge of Ogun State; the Honourable Speaker, Rt. Honourable Olumide Elemide, amongst others.

All Service Commanders were also present especially: the Commissioner of Police, CP. Mustapha Abiodun Alamutu; the Brigade Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta (ably represented); the State Director of Security; amongst others.

The event also had in attendance the royal fathers in Ogun State particularly: the Olu and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Obas Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty (Oba) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugenle MFR; the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo; the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, His Royal Majesty (Oba) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi; and the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona (also represented).

The event which is an annual event attracted personalities from far and near. It was a convergence of the high and mighties in Ogun State especially past and serving Senators; past and serving Honourable Members of the House of Representatives; amongst others.

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, addressed the Ogun people on the need for calmness, unity, progress, peace, love and harmony discrediting the cry for protests by some groups across Nigeria noting that that won’t take us anywhere as a people.

Finally, the Governor appreciated the people of Ogun State for their tenacity, resilience and patience especially for the trust they have in the government. He promised that soon the betterment for the patience and perseverance of the Nigerian people will soon be yielding fruits by the Grace of God!

Meanwhile, while addressing the press at the arcade ground after the event, the duo of the Commissioner of Police, CP. Mustapha Abiodun Alamutu and the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant David Idowu Ojelabi mni, decried the availability of any protest in Ogun State as everywhere remained cool and calm while all citizens went about their private businesses without any disturbance whatsoever.
