The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), has once again made history by becoming the first sitting governor to visit the Kwara State headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This visit not only marks a significant milestone but also highlights the governor’s unwavering commitment to supporting the corps in its efforts to ensure security and maintain peace across the state.
During his visit on Wednesday, 18th September 2024, Governor AbdulRazaq seized the opportunity to personally commend and express appreciation to the leadership of the NSCDC in Kwara, particularly the State Commandant Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, for his relentless efforts in reducing crime to the barest minimum.
He lauded the command’s ability to maintain law and order, even in the most remote areas of the state.
Governor AbdulRazaq praised Commandant Umar for his exceptional leadership, particularly his dedication to security management, crime prevention, and control in the state.
He noted that the proactive measures taken by the command have significantly contributed to the peaceful atmosphere in Kwara, making it a safer environment for residents and businesses alike.
He specifically acknowledged the command’s strategic initiatives to improve the state’s security architecture, which has resulted in a noticeable reduction in criminal activities.
“The visible transformation of the headquarters and the impressive upgrade in the facilities reflect the level of professionalism and dedication of the command. This has undoubtedly improved the operational efficiency of the officers and men of the NSCDC,” AbdulRazaq said.
In his response, Commandant Umar J.G Mohammed expressed deep gratitude to Governor AbdulRazaq for the historic visit, emphasizing that it was the first time a sitting governor had set foot in the NSCDC state command.
He thanked the governor for his continuous support, particularly for providing resources that have strengthened the security infrastructure across the 16 local government areas of Kwara State.
Commandant Umar further reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to maintaining law and order, while also pledging to sustain the peace currently enjoyed in the state.
