The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Akwa Ibom State Command, has charged its officers to strive towards improved performance for quality service delivery.
The State Commandant, Mr Eluyemi Eluwade, gave the charge during the third edition of the Commandant Quarterly Conference in Ikot Ekpene on Wednesday.
Eluwade explained that the conference was held to evaluate performance and security threats in the state and proffer solutions.
He added that the leadership of the Corps will continue to provide avenues to review key performance indicators in line with the standard operating procedure of NSCDC.
He said that participants at the conference will be divided into syndicates and given topics to brainstorm on and proffer implementable solutions, adding that each syndicate will be headed by a Deputy Commandant to discuss farmers-herders clashes, increasing rate of kidnapping and robbery, inadequate logistics as a cause of operational inefficiency and indiscipline, among other topics.
He said, “The syndicates will brainstorm on causes, challenges, effects, and workable solutions. Resolutions reached from the brainstorming sessions will be forwarded to higher authorities and the State Government, who will facilitate their seamless implementation.”
He urged officers not to rest on their oars, promising to reward the best three divisions, best Area Command and best Department at the next conference.
