The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo state chapter led by the Chairman, Mr Festus Alekhe has paid a courtesy visit to the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Agun Gbenga.
The Chairman who led the other executives of the union thanked the Commandant and men of the Edo NSCDC state Command for a Job well done, in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructures of Government.
While speaking on the mandate of the NUJ in the state, the Chairman enumerated that the union has come a long way in making sure that news reportage in the state is not one sided and has been given fair reportage to all sectors in the state and also promoting the activities of the NSCDC and other security Agencies in the state.
The election is fast approaching, I want to use this forum to solicit for your support and Cooperation, before,during and after the Gubernatorial Election in the state.
In his remark,Commandant Gbenga appreciated the NUJ Chairman for finding it worthy to visit him.
Commandant appreciated the effort of Journalists in the state to enlighten members of the public on the efforts being put in place by the *NSCDC* to ensure Critical National Assets and Infrastructure of government is secured.
We are fully prepared for the forth coming Edo off Cycle Election, I assure you of maximum protection, before during and after the election,said Commandant.
Commandant Agun said the *NSCDC* has a mandate of ensuring a twenty four -hours surveillance of critical national asset and infrastructure, Crisis management, and licencing of private security guard companies amongs others.
