As part of ongoing efforts to address security challenges in the country, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Dr. Michael Adaralewa, has emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering to effectively tackle the security situation in the state.
Commandant Adaralewa gave this charge during a strategic meeting with Management staff, Area Commanders, and Divisional officers on Tuesday, 4th June 2024.
He urged officers to prioritize intelligence gathering, stressing that proactive intelligence is the bedrock of every security agency.
The meeting provided an opportunity for officers to assess the security situation in the state, review operational strategies, and take decisive measures to combat criminal activities in Osun State.
The Osun NSCDC helmsman, emphasized the need for officers to maintain a firm control of their jurisdictions. “Be bold yet polite, do not harass members of the public” He said
The Commandant also directed personnel to ensure seamless security in public spaces, guaranteeing a crime-free and enabling environment in the state.
Pertinent issues affecting Divisional Officers in their areas of responsibility were discussed, and solutions were offered.
Dr. Adaralewa urged officers to implement the issues that were discussed, which he said should be evident in their service delivery to the nation
