The state commandant, Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) lmo state command, Commandant Mary Mbanugo has joined other service commanders in Imo State to monitor the ongoing local Government and Councilorship elections in the state.
The elections are taking place in all the 27 Local Government Areas of the state and the state commandant has visited some polling units at some local Government Areas such as Owerri municipal, Owerri West, Owerri North, Ikeduru etc.
It should be noted that adequate provision of security has been made by the command to ensure that staff of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, the Electorates and sensitive/ nonsensitive electoral materials are secured by officers and men of the command before, during and after the elections.
It is pertinent to State that the elections so far are devoid of any
electoral violence as the electorates are freely exercising their franchise without obstruction.
