The Ogun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, David Ojelabi has described the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi as a sterling asset to the Corps emphasising that the Corps could not have been luckier with Dr Audi in the saddle as its Commandant General.
Commandant Ojelabi disclosed this at the presentation ceremony of the CG Audi’s third year compendium of achievements to the Ogun State Command of the NSCDC, stressing that since his assumption of duties CG Audi has rectified quite a number of issues that would have dwindled the fortune of the Corps.
”We cannot thank God enough for his emergence as the CG of the Corps. He came at the precarious state of the Corps when the situation was so cloudy and challenging to the extent that lots of personnel were stagnant on a rank for as long as seven years or more, it was that horrible; but with his emergence he embarked on a massive promotion that saw over 20,000 personnel moving up to their next rank.” Ojelabi stated.
Earlier in his speech, the author of the compendium Isiaka Mustapha had pointed out some of the achievements of CG Audi which include among others: creation of Civil Defence Academy in Jos; creation of Arms Squad Training School, Nasarawa; creation of NSCDC Female Squad; Creation of Special Mines Marshal; introduction of career progression; increase in the welfare package of the personnel and destruction of over 600,000 litres of illegal crude oil in the Niger Delta.
