NAOWA EXTOLS COMMANDER 33 BRIGADE ON WOMEN DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMMES

The Chairperson Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) 3 Division Chapter, Mrs Fibishola Abubakar, has extoled the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe for his support to 33 Brigade NAOWA, Nigerian  Army Soldiers Wives Association (NASWA) and widows of the fallen heroes in Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi. 

Mrs Abubakar gave the commendation during her familiarization visit to Shadawanka Barracks recently. The Chairperson disclosed that the purpose of her visit was to foster stronger relations and discuss areas of collaboration and opportunities with members of NAOWA, NASWA and widows within the Barracks. She also used the opportunity to commend the Commander for the numerous support and interventions accorded to the women folks, particularly in Shadawanka Barracks. She charged the women to continue to key into the vision of NAOWA President, Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja of “Sustaining Legacy Through Unwavering Commitment to Unity and Service to Humanity”.

While playing host to the Chairperson at the 33 Artillery Brigade Conference Room, the Commander, Brigadier General E Egbe pledged to continue to do more for NAOWA, NASWA and widows in the Barracks. According to him, officers and soldiers’ spouses are the source of strength as their husbands devout time to the service of the nation’s peace and security. 

The Commander said his actions were in line with one of cardinal points of Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy which is sound administration especially  as it concerns troops welfare in particular the homefront. He further reiterated that the effort was also in line with the guidance and direction of the General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army Major General AE Abubakar for a peaceful homefront to enable Officers/men focus on their Jobs. He therefore urged the women to continue to encourage their husbands to remain mentally stable even while in the frontlines. 

On her part, the NAOWA Acting Coordinator 33 Brigade, Mrs Victoria Akila praised the NAOWA President, Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja and the 3 Division NAOWA Chairperson, Mrs Fibishola Abubakar for their good virtues and unwavering commitment to the course of promoting NAOWA and NASWA programmes. She noted that the Association in Bauchi has been able to touch the lives of widows and orphans both within and outside the Barracks community. She expressed appreciation to the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe whom she said is their pillar of support, describing him as “the rock behind the success of all our activities”. She disclosed that the Commander always financed their activities and assisted NAOWA schools with furniture and computers and always listened to them which are pivotal to their achievements.

Highlights of the visit were courtesy call on the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade, presentation of Souvenirs, visit to NAOWA schools and address to NAOWA, NASWA and widows among others.
