LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS IN DELTA WILL BE PEACEFUL, COMMANDANT JIMOH ASSURES DSIE

The Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Suleiman Agboola Jimoh has assured of the non violent in the fortcoming local government election in Delta State.

Commandant Jimoh gave the assurance when he was paid a courtesy visit by the entire management team Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) led by its chairman, Dr Rapheal Jerry Agbaike.

Dr. Jerry Agbaike in his address appreciated the State Commandant for the reception accorded him and his team and intimated Commandant Jimoh that the main purpose of his visit was to officially inform NSCDC that Local Government elections in Delta State will hold on 13th July, 2024.

He therefore considered it necessary to visit all relevant stakeholders in the electioneering process which includes Security agencies such as NSCDC.

He solicited for a stronger synergy between both agencies in order to achieve success in the forthcoming election.

Commandant Suleiman however assured the visiting team of the NSCDC synergy and support for the forthcoming local government elections.

He noted that election duty is one of the areas that NSCDC had scored highly in the past which made the Corps the next Security agency to be constitutionally reckoned with in electoral matters after the Police.

The Commandant promised to bring his vast to help situation in the forthcoming local government election to make it a huge success.
