NSCDC Boss Performs Groundbreaking Ceremony for NIPSS Construction, Charges Course 46 Participants on Requisites for Protection of Critical Infrastructure

In fulfillment of a promise to build a befitting chalet for course participants at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru-Jos, the Commandant General (CG), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni, OFR has performed groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a four 1bedroom chalets. 

The NSCDC’s boss who described the groundbreaking and foundation laying ceremony as remarkable in the history of the Corps, explained that the action was in appreciation of the impact of NIPSS on the agency. 

In furtherance, he said, “the Corps is redeeming its pledge to build a comfortable accommodation for course participants of the institute believing that it will go a long way in adding value to NIPSS.”

He expressed optimism that the gesture would be reciprocated by the institute through an increase in the number of slots for the Corps in future courses. 

Speaking earlier, the Director General, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Professor Ayo Omotayo while thanking the NSCDC for its benevolence said the additional chalet will enhance the infrastructural capacity of the institute. 

Prof Omotayo then called on well meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies to come to the aid of the National Institute in terms of infrastructural development and other needs. 

The chalet, a block of four one-bedroom flats situated within the premise of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS)Kuru is meant to cater for the accommodation needs of participants of senior executive course, the Director General explained.

In another development, the Commandant General who was at the institute on invitation also shared his knowledge and experience with 2024 participants of Senior Executive Course 46 in his lecture entitled “Application of digital technology in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI): the role of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The Commandant General was accompanied to the institute by the Commandant of NSCDC Command and Staff College, ACG David Abbi, NSCDC Plateau State Commandant, Alexander Barunde, Commandant of Corps, Dan Okong a member of the Course 46 and Consultant to the Corps, Prof. Tyoor Terhemba  among other officers and men of the Corps.
