The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ebonyi State Command, Dr Elijah Etim Willie says he is willing to collaborate with the new Director, Department of State of Security Services, (DSS) Ebonyi State Command, Gabriel Euda.
Commandant Willie gave the assurance on Thursday when he played host to the Director, during a courtesy visit. He reiterated his desire to continue the synergy existing between the two Services to achieve the common goal of greater security for all in the state.
According to Commandant Willie, he is ever willing to share information with the director given his scope of statewide contacts. While enjoining the new director to brace up for the task ahead, Commandant Willie expressed reservation over the tag of Ebonyi as relatively peacefull.
He observed that corpses are picked up on the streets frequently and reports of violence and attacks are rampant across the state.
The commandant said he wryly smiles sardonically whenever he heard Ebonyi State was peaceful. He nevertheless enjoined Mr Eluda to embrace his resolve along with the State Commissioner of Police, Army Commander and heads of other services, to render their services selflessly in order to nip pockets of the problems in the bud.
The new State Director, Mr Eluda had earlier appreciated Commandant Willie for the warm reception accorded him and his team.
He stressed the need to consolidate on the cordial relationships between the two sister agencies and work for a common purpose. “Nobody can do it alone. We all have a common objective set for us by the Federal Government.”
