The Vice Chancellor of Ebony State University, Prof Chigozie Ogbu has expressed willingness to partner the State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ebony State Command Dr Elijah Willie for some academic programme in the University.
Prof. Ogbu gave this hint on Tuesday when he received Commandant Willie in his office during a courtesy visit.
He extolled Dr Willie’s academic accomplishments saying he was happy to meet people like him from time to time.
He directed the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, prof. Eugene Nweke to co-opt the commandant as one of the resource persons for some academic programme.
He further thanked him for inviting the University to come and take over solar batteries exhibits recovered by NSCDC personnel from suspects. And further pledged continual partnership with Civil Defence, stressing that the University has been grappling with security challenge given the multi-campus setting of the University.
Earlier, the state commandant Dr Willie had informed the Vice Chancellor that he deemed it necessary to pay him homage as an important element within his area of coverage.
He informed the University community of the (solar battery ) exhibits still in the command’s custody, adding that no protocol would be required to hand them over to the University management.
