The General Manager, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Benin Region, Engr. I C Okpe has paid a courtesy call on the Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Suleiman A. Jimoh.
Engr. Okpe ascertained their mandate as TCN to manage the National Grid.
”In the process of managing the grid issues arise in different forms such as the menace of structures springing up within restricted areas around power line installations in the region.
This menace which is more visible in Ughelli and Effurun axis of Delta state which has necessitated the need for urgent action to be taken to save people’s lives from possible disasters that may occur.”
He then solicited the support of NSCDC DELTA as it has become very paramount to carry out demolition of such structures within the restricted areas through an enforcement drive.
Commandant Suleiman in his response demonstrated assured the TCN management of the NSCDC cooperation.
