Solar Vandal Suspect Arraigned By Katsina NSCDC Jailed For Two Years

On Monday, 4th March 2024, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Jigawa Command secured the conviction and sentencing of Inuwa Salisu, aged 30, of Unguwar Arewa, Gujungu town, Taura LGA Jigawa State.

He was arraigned before Honourable Justice Hassan Dikko of the Dutse Division of Federal High Court, Jigawa State.

Justice Dikko convicted and sentenced him to two years of imprisonment with the option of a N200,000 fine after pleading guilty to one count charge of stealing solar batteries (two ROY solar SRT 12-158DC) along Gumel Road, Gujungu town, Taura LGA of Jigawa State, contrary to and punishable under Section 1 (10) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act.  

In addition, the judge ordered the convict to re-install the tampered solars at Gumel Road, Gujungu Town, Taura LGA, under the supervision of the district head of Gujungu, who must report compliance with the order within two weeks.
