Personnel of the NSCDC Jigawa State Command arrested two suspects namely; Musa Sani ‘M’ aged 23 and Ayuba Idris ‘M’ aged 20 all of Makara Huta Quarters of Hadejia Local Government Area on a suspected case of Criminal Conspiracy and Theft contrary to section 97 & 286 of Penal Code Law respectively. The two were arrested on Sunday 21st of January, 2024 at about 0830hrs in Gawuna Quarters, Hadejia while in possession of 10 bags of dried hibiscus (zobo) suspected to be stolen.
Investigation revealed that the suspects Conspired and broke into the shop of one Alhaji Yusuf Idris of Gawuna Quarters, Hadejia LGA at about 0330hrs on Sunday located at Gawuna Qtrs, where they forcefully broke the door open and gained access into the shop and stole 10 bags of dried hibiscus, which they used two stolen wheelbarrows and conveyed the stolen goods to a building belonging to one of the suspects. The 10 bags of hibiscus valued at N362,250 were subsequently recovered together with the two stolen wheelbarrows, an iron bar which they used in breaking the door open and a machete.
Both suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution.
