Taraba NSCDC Command Decorates Over 300 Newly Promoted Officers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Taraba State Command has today decorated over three hundred (300) personnel of the command following their success at the NSCDC senior officers examination held earlier in the year.
Among those promoted in the Command were two officers from the rank of Deputy Commandant of Corps to Commandant of Corps. In the same vein, six officers were promoted from the rank of Assistant Commandant of Corps to Deputy Commandant of Corps while two others rose from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Corps to their new rank of Assistant Commandant of Corps.
Earlier this month, the Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced that the Federal government has approved the promotion of twenty-one thousand, three hundred eighty-five (21,385) personnel of the NSCDC. This is the first time that the Corps has witnessed such an unprecedented number of promoted officers since the creation of the Corps.
Speaking at the decoration ceremony, the Commandant NSCDC Taraba State Command Adamu Salihu praised the Minister of Interior Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Commandant General NSCDC Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni
(OFR) for ending stagnation and delays in the promotion of the personnel of the Corps. “This is the first time we are witnessing this kind of massive promotion in the Corps. Personnel who have stagnated on a single rank for many years have been promoted. This is good for their morale and productivity”, he said.
The Commandant thanked the Almighty for making this massive promotion happen during his time as the State Commandant. He then congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to show their appreciation by redoubling their efforts in ensuring peace in their domain. “To whom much is given, much is expected. You must repay the confidence reposed on you by the Federal Government through your commitment to duty and selfless service to the nation”, the Commandant added.
Delivering the vote of thanks, DCC Tele Bernard on behalf of the newly promoted officers promised to be more hardworking and dedicated to their duty. He thanked God for the blessings of promotion and prayed to the Almighty to grant the wishes of those who are still waiting for theirs.
The occasion was also graced by the Secretary to the State Government Barr. Gibson Timothy Kataps who represented the Taraba State Government. Barr. Kataps took his time to congratulate the newly decorated officers and reassured the Command of the state government’s continued support to make the Corps more effective in the state.
The decoration ceremony was well attended by heads of sister security agencies and members of the general public.
