The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, Jigawa State Command, Muhammad Danjuma on Monday received the Zonal Coordinator, Northwest Geopolitical Zone of the National Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons, Air Vice Marshal Haruna Umar Mohammed (rtd) in his office.
The Zonal Coordinator was accompanied by senior members of his management including Brigadier General MS Danwalis (rtd), DCP Shamsuddeen Muhammed, Deputy Director, Department of State Security, Sani Abdullahi Sakaba.
The visit was to acquaint the NSCDC State Commandant with the activities of the Center and to seek for continuous support and collaboration in the onerous task of ridding the Nation of the menace of proliferation of illicit Small and Light Arms Weapons. The Zonal Coordinator appreciates NSCDC for its pivotal role as a critical stakeholder in this regard.
The State Commandant while appreciating the team for the visit, promised to give his undaunting support towards the success of the crusade. He declared his intention of deploying his personnel to man the borders with a view to checkmating illegal activities capable of jeopardizing the relative peace of the land as well as that of the Nation.
