Adamawa Attack: We Are Not At War With The Military – IGP

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Edbetokun, has said that the Police is not at war with the military.

Egbetokun said this during a visit to the Yola command of the Nigeria Police Force, where he offered his sympathies to the family of the late Inspector Jacob Daniel, who was murdered during an invasion of the police quarter guard by soldiers.

He told his men that the recent clash between the police and army was being addressed by the highest security authorities in the country.

Edbetokun condemned the attack and assured the family of the late officer that justice would be served.

The police chief urged police officers to continue with their normal duties and not to be demoralized by the incident.

Edbetokun also called on police officers to align themselves with the vision of the current administration, which is to have a police force that is professionally competent, service-driven, rule of law compliant, and citizen-friendly.

Governor Fintiri appreciated the visit by the IGP and assured his administration’s commitment to continue supporting the Nigerian Police and all other security agencies to improve security in the state.
