Ogun NSCDC Helmsman Pays Condolence Visit To General Ekundayo Opaleye’s Widows, Family

        …Delivers Commandant General Ahmed Audi’s Condolence Message To The Family 

On behalf of the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Headquarters, Abuja, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the Ogun NSCDC Commandant, David Ojelabi has paid a condolence visit to the widows of late former Ogun State Military Governor, Major General Ekundayo Opaleye.

During the visit, which took place at the deceased’s residence in Abeokuta, the CG who was represented by the Ogun State Commandant of the Corps, Commandant David Idowu Ojelabi who noted that the State and indeed the nation had just lost a genius, owing to his roles and advice on several national issues as an elder statesman. 

While consoling the widows and the bereaved, the CG assured them, that the man may have gone physically yet his gallantry roles and activities still lives on as he had already immortalized himself before his demise. 

He however assured the family that the Corps will continue to identify with them at all times by ensuring adequate protection of the properties left behind by the deceased. 

The CG through his representative prayed with the widows and the entire family even as he gives deep thought regarding the protection of the property of the deceased by the Corps. 

While welcoming the Commandant General on behalf of the family, Mr. Adekunle Opaleye, son of the deceased, expressed delight in the visit by the Corps.

He further appreciated the Corps, stressing that the family had always enjoyed the services of the Civil Defence when his late father was alive. 

He fought many wars and represented the country internationally on many occasions before his meritorious retirement from the service. 

He’s survived by his wives, children and grand-children, families and friends who are now currently ensuring he is giving a befitting burial.
