Let me say with all emphasis at my disposal that the emergency of Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi as Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps had actually helped out the Corps from imminent collapse.
Prior to his emergence, NSCDC was almost incapacitated by cocktail of challenges and deficiencies. Among others, the NSCDC officers and men were faced with the humiliation of stagnant promotions; disrupted salaries and allowances of the personnel; horrible welfare package and acute dampened morale among others. It was a stroke of luck for us all to have had Dr. Audi emerged at the helm of affairs at that critical and challenging time.
And since he came on board, he has helped restore regular promotion of the Corps officers and men, merit is now order of the day, dignity and ethics have been restored, and all these have help to liven up the spirit of officers and men of the Corps, with its attendant high productivity and enhanced capacity. So hardworking is the Commandant General that within a spate of two year he has helped restored and revitalized NSCDC’s mandate to an enviable paramilitary with the world best practice.
Like numerous officers and men, I’m lucky to be one of the beneficiaries of his noble policies that have helped reinvigorate the NSCDC, having been sent on various courses on leadership skill and management of resources, all these had indeed prepared me ahead of my present task as a state commandant.
Dr. Audi’s leadership style has brought about a dynamic and improved relationship in NSCDC with other sister agencies and other organizations, as the case may be, especially during national assignments such as general elections and general insecurity.”
