Following the recent crisis that broke out in Dekina/Idah LGAs between suspected farmers and herders which has led to the destruction of lives and properties , and the displacement of populace from their various homes.
In a swift response and pragmatic approach to restore law and order in the affected areas, the Kogi State Government under the Leadership of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has constituted a high power delegation headed by the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja alongside some service chiefs which includes the CP , Commander Army Records, NSCDC State Commandant Ahmad Ahmad Gandi and SA on security matters to the Governor, Commodore Jerry Omodara (rtd) to meet and consult with all the relevant stake holders, engage affected communities, and get necessary information and intelligence that would help in bringing about lasting peace to the affected communities.
Knowing the role of traditional institution in the society, the high-power delegation thought it wise to extend its consultation visit to the Atta of Igalla who the Paramount ruler of the Igala land and unifying factor of the Igala kingdom to help restore peace in the troubled areas.
