The Rivers State commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Basil Igwebueze, has revealed that 1,650 operatives from various departments and units have been mustered to provide adequate security before, during, and after the Eid el-Kabir celebration in the state.
Basil revealed this while briefing officers and men at the command’s headquarters, where he assured the people of Rivers State of a serene and hitch-free Sallah celebration.
A statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Olufemi Ayodele, assured that the deployment of officers would be intelligence-driven.
It also said the commandant has directed all area commanders to supervise the divisional officers under their senatorial districts to forestall all criminal activities and arrest anyone who constitutes a threat to the overall security of the state.
