ADEBOWALE, YOU’RE DEAD WRONG, LET FUGITIVE EMEFIELE RETURN HOME TO PROVE HIS INNOCENCE

Godwin Emefiele

After reading through one Yemi Adebowale’s write-up which he tagged “The Obsessive Security Chap Called Yusuf Bichi’’ against the Department of State Service and his highly esteemed Director General, Alhaji Yusuf Bichi in the 7th January, 2023 edition of Thisday  Newspaper, I could not help, but sympathized with Adebowale over the acute ignorance and lack of sense of patriotism exhibited in his write-up, which any discerning mind would classify as “watery and senseless.”

Ordinarily, I would have preferred not to glamorize such a worthless write-up against the Department of State Service and its extremely skilled Director General in person of Alhaji Yusuf Bichi whose tenure as helmsman of the Service has been variously described as ‘ethically productive and sterling’ but for the fact I need to clear the air for the benefit of some unsuspecting members of the public, who might likely fall victims of Adebowale’s antics and fraudulent pronouncements.

Of course, I am not oblivious  of the fact that Adebowale ranks a top member among  the premier league of commercialized quack journalists and unpatriotic Nigerians commissioned by the fleeing Central Bank Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele who prefers banking on shoddy character like Adebowale and his ilks to cover up his illicit and criminal conducts as been presently investigated by the DSS.

So acute is Adebowale’s ignorance that he could not even decipher the concept of the responsibilities and mandate assigned the DSS by the constituted authority. For the records, and the attention of character like Adebowale and his cohorts, It should be established to them that one of the cardinal responsibilities of the DSS as assigned to it by the law  is to protect and defend the Federal Republic of Nigeria in its entirety against domestic threats, in addition to providing leadership and criminal justice services to both the Federal and State Law Enforcement organs.

And in pursuance of its mandate, the DSS after its thorough investigation in strict compliance with all the determinant factors had investigated the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele and found him culpable of some heinous offenses such as:  financing of terrorism, abuse of office and other sundry economic crimes which according to DSS sources had caused the nation economic and security adversities. This had actually necessitated his invitation for questioning.

Approaching the court of law for the arrest of helmsman of the Nigeria’s Apex Bank has rather revealed how civil and ethically compliant the Bichi-led DSS could be in the discharge of its assigned responsibilities and mandate, which as a matter of sincerity deserves all commendations and kudos.

So grievous and convincing are the findings of the DSS that it had to approach a court of law for leave to apprehend the seeming fugitive CBN Governor.

Adebowale should have pondered and asked himself why is it that it is at this particular time the CBN Governor disappeared from Nigeria under the pretext of medical check-up in God knows where.?

The fact that Emefiele is a shame to the nation and aberration to the public office has undoubtedly been recorded as a chapter in the Nigeria’s historical record and well established in the public domain.

It’s a pity that the Fugitive CBN Governor is yet to come to terms that he’s been caught in the web of criminality he’s weaved around the public office entrusted to him for years.

Let him not alter the issue at hand by turning the criminal allegation hanging on his neck into a media jamboree in the expectation that he can deceive and distract Nigerians; instead he should come back home and challenge the DSS with proof of his innocence, rather than shopping for court reliefs in absentia to cover up his misdeeds. The issues on ground are far from this wrong notion of his!

It is sad to note that Adebowale who prides himself a journalist could not even read between nor, understand the multiple adverse effects the issue of non availability of fuel could unleash on the country’s already fragile security.

The likes of Adebowale and Ilks on the payroll of Emefiele ignorantly could not decipher that dire shortage of fuel in the country, if unremedied poses a major domestic threat and unrest which is capable of unsettling the constituted authority and throw Nigeria into a state of anarchy, which explains why the DSS had to quickly move in to salvage the situation which has helped to partly eased the crippling fuel shortage in the country, after the DSS read riot act to unpatriotic marketers that were using fuel queue to sabotage the nation and create disaffection between Nigerians and the constituted authority.

It’s so shocking that the likes of Adebowale and Emefiele, his paymaster, would not reason along this line of thought, rather, they prefer to work relentlessly towards the destruction of Nigeria, our dear country!

From all the available independent investigations, it is clear that no man or woman of impeccable character would raise a finger in the defence of Emefiele considering the gravity of his unethical and criminal conduct over the years.

Recalled that against the norm and global best practice, Emefiele in an audacious manner as a sitting CBN Governor went partisan, and emerged as one of the APC Presidential Aspirants, allegedly siphoning funds from the public treasury to promote his political ambition, thus causing unnecessary tension and anxiety within the Nigeria’s financial sector and its economy in general.

Good enough for Adebowale and his other commissioned colleagues, smiling to the bank with Emefiele’s ill gotten money; but it’s obvious that their assigned task of rebranding the already established fraudulent image of Emefiele would amount to nothing positive. Until their Fugitive paymaster return back to Nigeria to purge himself of the grievous allegations against him; nothing reasonable would be achieved by their mischievous and fraudulent defensive writings.
