…Impounds five trucks
The newly inaugurated Commandant-General’s Special Antivandal Monitoring Unit (CG’s SAVMU) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has impounded 133,000 suspected stolen diesel in Rivers State.
The Unit Commander of the squad, DCC Brah Samson, said on Tuesday that the operatives seized five tankers conveying the illegal product.
Samson in a statement signed by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Rivers State, DSC Olufemi Ayodele, said two of the tankers were conveying 33,000 litres of the product.
He said others contained 40,000 litres, 45,000 and 15,000 insisting that the squad would not relent on its mandate to eradicate oil theft in the state.
