Kwara community donates patrol vehicle to NSCDC

The Aran Orin Community in Kwara has donated a patrol vehicle to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara command.

The patrol vehicle was donated by the community in conjunction with Aran Orin Progressive Union and Alaran Council of Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Spokesman of the Command, Mr Babawale Afolabi, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin.

According to the statement, the patrol vehicle, a Double Cabin Hilux van, is to enable the corps perform its duties effectively.

He said that the patrol van was for the smooth operation of the newly established Area Command of NSCDC in Aran Orin town.

The NSCDC State Commandant, Mr Makinde Ayinla, commended the magnanimity of the community for the donation, which he said would assist in easing the movement of the staff.

Ayinla said the donation came at the right time, adding that the corps is planning new strategies to clear all the criminal elements in the state.

“He assured the community that the command will intensify effort to ensure that criminal activities are reduced to the barest,” Afolabi said.

According to the statement, the vehicle will be put to use with immediate effect.
