Muslim ummah all over Nigeria, including Kaduna, will bring to an end, their Ramadan fasting as soon as they sight the crescent of Shawwal 1443 AH.
However, the insecurity bedevilling Kaduna State has instilled fear in the minds of many Muslims, including their Christian counterparts.
DAILY POST gathered that many residents in the state are currently tuning to their radio, listening and watching their TVs to hear the current state of affairs in the state, especially as it concerns insecurity before they decide how to celebrate.
Sallah celebrations in Kaduna State in the past often began with going to the prayer and thereafter, the exchange of pleasantries and visiting of friends and family.
However, this year there is the fear of bandits, and criminals, who are waiting for every available opportunity to attack, kidnap and demand ransom from the families of their victims.
Although security agencies in Kaduna State have promised to deploy several operatives during the Sallah festivity to avert any breakdown of law and order, many residents insist they are not safe as the bandits have no regard for security operatives.
A Kaduna resident, Isah Jibrin said there is every cause to rejoice, especially during the Sallah celebrations.
” We are going to celebrate this Sallah, rejoice with our friends, relations and others because we ended this fasting peacefully. In spite of the rumour of bandits’ attacks in some communities, and local government areas, we are grateful to Almighty Allah that some were not touched. It is a great thing to thank God for.”
He said while celebrating, everyone must be careful, and watchful against criminals that may use the opportunity to attack.
Also, Zainab Musa, a Muslim women leader based in Kakuri Kaduna, pleaded with everyone to be cautious of criminals around their environment, just as she urged them to always stay within their environment.
”Ramadan comes once a year and there is every reason to celebrate irrespective of any criminal or bandits”, she said.
Adding that the spirit of the festivity and through Allah’s guidance, criminal, evildoers may not succeed in their plans.
Also speaking on his preparation for this year’s Sallah, Umar Sani enjoined everyone to celebrate with caution, and avoid late-night visits to friends and relatives.
“I am appealing to my brothers and sisters to avoid late visits to their loved ones.
