Buhari appoints acting CG for Fire Service as Liman bows out

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Deputy Controller General (DCG) Karebo Samson as the new Acting Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The spokesperson for the FFS, DF Ugo Huan, disclosed this in a statement made available to reporters on Thursday evening.

According to the statement, Acting CG Karebo, while speaking at a handover event at the FFS headquarter, thanked the President for the opportunity to serve.

Acting CG Karebo promised to ensure that personnel of the operation department are motivated to be at their best in the discharge of their duty.

While calling on officers and men of the FFS to maintain a high level of discipline, he assured them that he will carry everyone along to move the service forward.

The outgoing Controller General, Dr Liman Ibrahim, enjoined Acting CG Karebo to complete all the ongoing projects in the Service.

Dr Ibrahim thanked the President for giving him the opportunity to serve.

He said the current administration had lifted the FFS from a sorry state to become a world-class organisation.

He said his successes at the FFS would not have been possible without the vision of the president to protect lives and property of Nigerians.

He called on the personnel of the Service to give the Acting CG maximum support to succeed.
