The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), says it has deployed 5,000 personnel to beef up security in Kaduna during the Christmas and New Year.
Godwin Miebi, the NSCDC’s Commandant in the state disclosed this in a statement issued by Mr Habeeb Badamasi, the corps Director of Information in Kaduna on Wednesday.
Miebi stated that the deployment was part of the corps culture of ensuring the security of lives of citizens and critical infrastructure.
“The command has approved the deployment of no fewer than 5,000 personnel to places of worship, markets, recreational centres, motor parks, restaurant and bars, and critical national assets among others.’’
Area Commanders are directed to revamp their security apparatus and take into consideration security within and around their domains.
Miebi also directed that the “Operation Yaki Component of the NSCDC’’, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, the Female Arms Squad, Rapid Response Squad, Anti-vandal Unit, to patrol those spots during the period.
Commending the people of Kaduna State for their support in 2021, Miebi urged them to always volunteer useful information to fight crime and criminality.
The commandant wished Christians in the state a happy Christmas and urged them to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
