The Vigilante Group of Nigeria has moved into its newly acquired national headquarters in Abuja.
The new headquarters building located at Setraco Gwarimpe Estate, Federal Capital Territory would among others serve as official office to Commander General Umar Bakori, his deputy and other principal officers of the volunteer security organization.
In an exclusive interview with People’s Security Monitor yesterday, while conducting our crew round the new headquarters, the Commander General of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria explained that the need for the new headquarters became inevitable on the account of the expanding services and logistics of the security organization.
”It just became extremely necessary for us to move into a bigger headquarters because of our rising profile we are now more engaged than ever before, and Nigerians are getting to know better of our relevance in terms of community policing. Because of acute shortage of operatives in the police, we could not help but fill in the gap by way of complementing not only the efforts of the police but other security agencies especially when it comes to community police.
All these put together has really widen the scope of our activities so much that we could not just afford not go for a bigger building to serve as our national headquarters in Abuja.” CG Bakori stated.
