The 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration was held on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, MD Yusuf Complex, Mani Road, Katsina.
The event was hosted by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Katsina State Secretariat, with the State Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Saidu, leading staff and corps members to participate in the solemn occasion.
It was a moment of sober reflection and deep gratitude as the nation honoured its fallen heroes who valiantly fought and sacrificed their lives to protect Nigeria’s unity and territorial integrity.
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Umaru Dikko Radda PhD, was the Parade Review Officer, presiding over the ceremony with dignity and reverence.
A symbolic 21-gun salute was performed in memory of the departed heroes, while white pigeons were released as a symbol of peace and unity, underscoring the nation’s hope for a harmonious future.
The event was both a tribute to courage and a call for continued dedication to the ideals for which these brave individuals gave their lives.
