The Chinese Consulate General in Lagos, Ms Yan Yuqing, in a first (1st) New Year visit received the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro in a security conference, held at the Consulate General’s office, today, Friday, 3rd January, 2025.
Recall also that the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, in the just ended year, visited, the Chinese Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Yu Dunhai, on Monday, 4th November, 2024. Amidst others, the visit mainly, emphasized, on the importance of manpower development. It also centred on building partnerships to enhance training programs, aimed at fostering professional growth within the Corps and ensure a more skilled and effective workforce.
The Chinese Consulate General in Lagos, Ms Yan Yuqing and her team engaged the Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro and his team in about an hour thirty minutes long discussion on security of four key areas of Chinese investments in Lagos such as; telecommunications, mining, road construction and railway, without neglecting all other important security aspects sine qua non to the sanctity, safety and security of our dear Lagos State and Nation, Nigeria. The consular also seek the Corps support in the protection of Chinese nationals and investors in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro seized the opportunity to avow the Corps’ continuous commitment to the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure as well as construction sites located, in our dear state as the new year unfolds. He promised the Consulate General of the readiness of the command to partner with her to upscale the security of lives and property of its nationals living in the state.
The Lagos State Commandant implores Chinese nationals in Lagos state to remain law abiding, exhibit great character of cooperation, unity, love and respect for the great Nigerian people, to foster harmonious relationships and effective growth and development in the new year.
Present at the conference from the Chinese Consulate include; Liu Kai, Chinese Police Liaison Officer and Xie Yijun, Protocol Secretary in Chinese Consulate General in Lagos. Also from the NSCDC, Lagos State Command, include; Assistant Commandant of Corps in charge of CNAI, Fabian Adoga, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin, Superintendents of Corps Salako Segun, Ibitoye Paul and Assistant Superintendent of Corps I Olanrewaju Olufemi were present at the conference today, Friday.
