Not too long ago, security chiefs in the Northern zone of the country declared Gombe state as the most peaceful in the North .
The proclamation also adjudged the state as the most tranquil and investor- friendly in the entire Northern region in general and the troubled Northeast in specific.
Needless the awesome feat is by no means the Joker so far utilized by the governor of the state, his Excellency , Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the general peace in the state has been attributed to the pragmatic disposition the governor has undertaken in governing the state, where everyone, irrespective of tribe and religious affiliation is not discriminated against.
Similarly security committees comprising religious , traditional leaders are constituted with memberships of security agencies in all the localities, among other measures.
Speaking recently , Governor Yahaya admitted that even though his state was in the midst of the northeast troubled frontline states, that they were thankful to God for the relative peace and secured state despite unending challenges of insecurity in the zone.
He said the state government has put in so much efforts to ensure the people live together in peace
“This is despite our differences; religious difference, social difference and other social differences that normally cause friction among the people” he said.
The governor noted that they have gotten the understanding of Gombe people and with the support of the security agencies, the government has been able to relate well and manage security in the State.
“We’re happy and by the grace of God we shall try to sustain that going forward.” he also stated
With notable national events being organised in the state, Gombe has also be chosen as a centre for the public hearing for the review of revenue allocation formula.
