BABAJI SUNDAY: THE FACE OF A GOOD POLICE OFFICER

“Without mincing words, I want to state categorically that no criminal
elements will be tolerated within the FCT, hence, anyone with criminal
intentions should either repent or be prepared to face the full wrath
of the law,”

The above were the exact words of Babaji Sunday on 8th of August this year when he took over the baton of leadership as Police Commissioner in charge of the Federal Capital Territory.  True to his words, he has ever since sustained his unwavering commitment to provision of adequate security of lives and properties within the FCT.

People’s Security Monitor’s independent statistical data revealed that since assumption of duties, Babaji has shown a drastic reduction in crime rate, so much that FCT has now become a reference  for safety and security of lives and properties.

Within the rank and file and senior cadre of the Nigeria Police Force,  Babaji, is described by numerous sources as a result-oriented cop of immeasurable sterling attributes. He represents all that a good policeman stands for.

Babaji has earned for himself the reputation of a diligent, proactive and intelligent officer such that the police authorities and other relevant stakeholders are proud of him.

He pays high premium to humanity, Babaji hardly flaunt his achievements; but his men at various Commands where he had worked before his current assignment would readily attest to his numerous exploits.

Babaji’s  motivational prowess is legendary, he makes his men and even members of the public feel at home all the time. A good listener. Ever willing to learn and teach others. He sees himself as a team leader and not a boss in the discharge of his duties and co-ordination of his men and resources to fight crime and criminals.

CP Babaji, a crack detective of repute was born on 12th April, 1963 in
Bambam-Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State.

He obtained a Primary School Certificate, General Certificate of
Education and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 3rd March, 1990 as an
Assistant Superintendent of Police and has served in different
capacities which includes: Detective, Special Fraud Unit, Lagos, Sectional Head at EFCC, Area
Commander Kaduna Metropolis, Kaduna State Command, Area Commander
Dala, Kano State Command.

He Also served as Deputy Commissioner of Police – Inspectorate DTD,
FHQ, Deputy Commissioner of Police – Welfare DFA, FHQ, Deputy
Commissioner of Police -SCID Kaduna Command, Director Operations,
Special Presidential Investigation Panel on Recovery of Public
Property, Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations FCT
Command.

CP Babaji Sunday has attended several professional courses home and
abroad including the International Post Blast Investigation, Federal
Law Enforcement Training Centre, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and
Firearms, Glynco-Georgia, USA and GEN-SAD Members State Police
Officers Course, At Community of Sahel-Sahara State GEN-SAD Tripoli,
Libya amongst others.
