NSCDC assures collaborative effort with NGO in Zamfara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State has pledged to provide strategic support for peacebuilding efforts led by the registered non-governmental organization, CLEEN Foundation, aimed at addressing fundamental security challenges at the community level within the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, the Zamfara State NSCDC PRO II, Habiba A. Saleh, announced that the command had received CLEEN Foundation’s Program Director and his team during an advocacy visit to the NSCDC state headquarters in Gusau, the state capital,

“The State Commandant of the NSCDC and the management staff welcomed the CLEEN Foundation delegation, led by Program Director Mr. Salaudeen Hashim, Ph.D., at the administrative headquarters in Gusau,” the statement said.

Mr. Salaudeen, in his address to the management staff, advocated for strategic support from the state command to engage local communities and foster a civil-military relationship by building awareness and trust to address the state’s security challenges effectively.

He emphasized that the NSCDC, as the primary security outfit interfacing directly with the public, plays a crucial role in promoting peace, ensuring citizens’ safety, and safeguarding national assets and infrastructure.

The program director appealed for the command’s cooperation with CLEEN Foundation’s initiatives, which are aimed at mitigating the impact of banditry and other security issues in the state.

In response, the NSCDC State Commandant, Sani Mustapha, affirmed that under his leadership, the Zamfara State command would do its utmost to support peace and security.

“This is a welcome development, and the state command is committed to collaborating towards achieving sustainable peace in Zamfara State,” he assured.
