NIGERIAN ARMY AND THE NIGERIA POLICE REINFORCE PARTNERSHIP IN LAGOS AND OGUN STATES

The Nigerian Army (NA) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate in tackling security challenges in Lagos and Ogun states. This was made known when the Assistant Inspector General (AIG)l of Police Adegoke Mustapha Fayoade paid a courtesy visit on the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division NA, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa on 29 October 2024.

The visit which held at Headquarters 81 Division in Victoria Island, Lagos, was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the two security agencies. While speaking during the visit, the GOC, Major General Mijinyawa emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security in these economically vital states. He further assured AIG Fayoade of the NA’s continued support while recognizing the crucial role of the NPF in internal security operations.

Speaking earlier, AIG Fayoade described his visit as an effort to sustain the synergy already existing between the two organisations. He further highlighted the national significance of the Army-Police collaboration and pledged the full cooperation of the Police in ensuring the safety and security of citizens in Lagos and Ogun states.

The GOC and AIG also commended the successful joint operations and the positive impact on the security of Lagos and Ogun states.

The visit was concluded with the symbolic exchange of souvenirs, signifying the already existing synergy between the two forces.
