The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has promoted the Spokesperson of Katsina State Command DSC Buhari Hamisu to the rank of Superintendent of Corps.DSC Buhari Hamisu who resumed as the sixth substantive Public Relations Officer of the Command on 9th May, 2023 exhibited high level of commitments, dedication and hardworking in projecting the image of the Corps as a critical stakeholder in the Security architect of the country. He maintained excellent relationships within the Corps, media and the general public.
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) approved the promotion of 20,867 personnel across the services on Friday 13th September, 2024.A total of 9,937 were promoted in the NSCDC to their next ranks, with 167 in the Command.
Personnel promoted in the Command to other ranks cut across various ranks from Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASC II) to Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) . 6 personnel were promoted to the rank of Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC), 3 to the rank of Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC), 5 to Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC), 10 to Superintendent of Corps (SC), 12 to Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC), 56 to Assistant Superintendent of Corps I(ASC I) and 73 to Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASC II).
The Hon. Minister of Interior Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who doubles as Chairman of the board disclosed that promotion was done on merit and dedication to duty.He further disclosed that promotion of personnel and their welfare are part of the renewed hope agenda of President Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
The unpresidented promotion of large number of NSCDC personnel also demonstrated the resolve of the highly erudite and indefatigable Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni, OFR, who upon assumption to office reiterated his commitments to rejig, revamp, restructure and reposition the Corps for better performance.
With the visionary and excellent leadership style of CG Audi the era of stagnation in the Corps is over.
