The new commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) in Akwa Ibom State, Bashar Hussaini has assumed office as the 16 commandant in the state.
This was revealed in a press statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, Friday Ekerete, on Tuesday in Uyo.
Hussaini is replacing Eluyemi Eluwade who has been redeployed to the corps National Headquarters in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
Ekerete revealed that the new Commandant who has vast experience in service across the country will bring his wealth of knowledge to the state command.
He further stated that the new Commandant has made known his commitment in tackling economic sabotage and the public asset vandalism in the state.
He said: “Hussaini holds a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
“His service to the nation began in 1990 as a member of the Cadet Officer Course 1 of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency
“He later transferred his services to the NSCDC in 2009. He is highly experienced and disciplined.
“He brings extensive experience in undercover operations, counter terrorism, intelligence and investigations.”
Ekerete stated that the newly appointed commandant had committed to collaborating with the Akwa Ibom Government and various security agencies to ensure the protection of public infrastructure.
