History has made itself again today (17/09/2024) at the state headquarters of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) lmo state command as the first ever NSCDC lmo state command female state commandant Commandant Dr Mary Euphrasia Mbanugo took over the mantle of leadership of the command from Commandant Mathew Sunday Ovye.
Recall that in the leadership genealogy of lmo command, Commandant Mary is the first female commanding officer the command has ever produced and as such she has shown so much gratitude to God and to the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi for this aesthetic opportunity to serve the Corps.
A born Anambra quintessential woman with alluring academic qualifications who holds a doctorate Degree in Igbo Language.
Commandant Mbanugo has acquired quality experience in the security world as she has attended so many security courses, seminars and workshops which have enhanced her performance in service delivering.
After the vesting day parade that marked the end of the tenure of CC Mathew S. Ovye and the commencement of new tenure of office of CC Mary E. Mbanugo, the press men in Owerri capital of Imo State were briefed by the new Commandant on what Imo people should expect from the command under her watch.
According to the service commander, “lmolites should definitely expect the best from the command, the command under my watch will at all times display a high level of professionalism in the fight against crime and criminality. Rule of law must be respected as rights of citizens of Imo State must be protected while law breakers must face the wrath of the law.”
Furthermore, the new sheriff disclosed that she’s battle ready, stating that security is everybody’s business and having come on board as the state commandant, she will collaborate and synergize with other security Agencies in the state to promote a water tight security.
In the area of vandalism, the state commandant was emphatic and has this to say, “I really have a message for those oil thieves who sabotage the economy of the country, i urge you to desist from such illegal activity or face the full weight of the law, the command under my watch will never leave any stone unturned in ensuring that oil thieves and oil pipeline vandals are brought to book or better still relocate to another state because I will definitely make Imo state uninhabitable for you.”
