MISLEADING ALLEGATION ON ARMY CHILDREN SCHOOL, PORT HARCOURT, A FUTILE ATTEMPT AT INSTITUTIONAL BLACKMAIL

Headquarters 6 Division, Nigerian Army (NA) viewed with utmost concern, a misleading publication on Eastwestreporters. com on the current state of Army Children School Port Harcourt. While the Division would not want to join issues with such merchants of falsehood, it is instructive to state that the publication is one of those futile attempts at blackmailing the image and reputation of the NA. Thus, this deliberate misinformation should be discountenanced in its entirety.

For the records, the facility, which is located at GRA 2, Port Harcourt, is solely owned and run by the Rivers State Government and not the NA, as surreptitiously insinuated in the publication. It is also important to unequivocally state that the correct name of the school in question is Army Children Model School GRA 2, Port Harcourt. These facts should have been clearly stated in the report. However, they were not mentioned in order to deceive the unsuspecting public. Thus, people whose stock in trade is to project falsehood through such mischievous publication are advised to check their facts before placing them on the public domain.

The NA has been proud to have numerous schools, efficiently run by the Nigerian Army Education Corps, with some of the best facilities and top-notch teachers nationwide. This essentially accounts for the high level of patronage for NA schools and the excellent performances the products of the schools exemplified over time.

The Division wishes to advise merchants of misinformation to get their facts accurately before coming up with such spurious, unsubstantiated, and misleading publication to tarnish the image of the NA. The NA remains committed to being responsive to the general public.
